Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths from Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State stormed the state’s party secretariat in Umuahia, the state capital, protesting alleged imposition of Mr. Obioma Igwe, as the state’s party’s chairman in the area.
They also called on Chief Johnson Onuigbo, the party’s state chairman to stop Igwe’s inauguration.
The youths arrived hours before the inauguration of party’s local government chairmen.

It was further learnt that what played out at the state party secretariat was a continuation of the supremacy battle between two gladiators, the party’s National Organising Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), and member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr. Sam Onuigbo, over who would control the party’s structure at the local level.
