Oyo’s COVID-19 Endowment Fund Now N334m — Official

The Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Akinola Ojo, said on Friday that cash donations to the State COVID-19 Endowment Fund have reached N334 million.

Ojo disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan, by Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Seyi Makinde.

The statement quoted the commissioner as saying that the value of Health-related donations was put at N261 million, while Agricultural products was put at N109 million.

It stated further: “The donations in cash and kind therefore stand at N704 million as at May 1.

“The governor expressed appreciation to everyone who has contributed in one way or the other in supporting the state at this period.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Gov. Makinde had on April 27 declared that 90,000 households identified as the poorest of the poor would get the state government’s palliatives.

He also made it clear that 30,000 vulnerable households would benefit from the palliatives.

It is expected that the food items donated to the state government would be distributed to the already identified 120,000 households across the state in the coming week.
