An Eighty-five-year old woman has jumped to her death in Anambra State.

The woman identified as Ilione Victoria, jumped from the balcony of an apartment on the 3rd floor of a four storey building where she stayed with her daughter at No 18 Ilodibe Street, Awada, Anambra state.

The sad incident took place on Tuesday.

A statement issued by the spokesperson for the Anambra state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said the deceased had been having mental challenges and had her movement restricted.

According to Mohammed, she was at home with her care giver, one Judith Amumuche aged 32yrs at the time of the alleged incident.

The Police PRO said that before the police could get to the scene of the incident, one Ikediaso Benedicta of 3-3 Housing Estate, Onitsha, said to be deceased’s daughter allegedly took the corpse away to an unknown destination.

He said however that blood stains were seen at the scene.

Mohammed added that the care giver and other witnesses at the scene were helping the police to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
