Some 22 secondary school students were killed in an auto crash at Gaya local government area of Kano State on Tuesday.

The students were going on excursion to a radio station when the accident happened.

It was gathered that the accident happened close to Maitama Sule College by Dudduru at about 11.00 a.m.

The accident involved a truck and a bus conveying the students from Misau local government, Bauchi.

The bus was said to have collided with the truck when they were both avoiding a pothole at Samia Uku Village.

The spokesman of Kano State Police Command, Musa Majiya, confirmed the incident and said policemen were at the scene of the accident.
