Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for winning the Presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general elections and pledging his support.
The congratulatory message and pledge of support were contained in a letter signed by Tambuwal and addressed to Atiku, dated Oct. 8, which was issued on Monday in Abuja.
The letter made available to the Next Edition newsroom read in part: “On behalf of myself, my family, and millions of my supporters from across the length and breadth of the country, I heartily rejoice with and congratulate you on your emergence as the flag bearer of our great political party, the PDP.

He pledged to work with Atiku to ensure his victory in the 2019 general elections, and urged other members of the party to work for its victory.
Tambuwal was among the 11 other contestants that lost to Atiku at the PDP Presidential primaries in Port Harcourt over the weekend. Atiku garnered 1,532 votes to win the ticket, while Tambuwal backed by Govs Nyesom Wike and Ayo Fayose scored 693 votes to clinch the second position.
