Mrs. Ortom, who acknowledged the overwhelming support and love the people of sankera have accorded her husband in the last four years, noted that she was confident of the victory of governor Ortom and all other PDP candidates from presidency to states.

The governor’s wife eulogized former governor, Gabriel Suswam before the cheering crowd, and urged the people to always give him their support, saying Suswam was like a brother to the governor.

She also described Ukum people as very strong and committed farmers and urged them to show more commitment to their farming activities.

Mrs Ortom who said her husband was committed to the peace and safety of Benue people, called on the entire citizens to sincerely support his re-election bid.

She commended the people of Ukum for their cooperation and participation in the empowerment programmes of her pet project, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation and sued for sustained prayers for them to continue to do more.

The PDP State Woman Leader, Mrs Abeje Egwa told the people of Sankara to support Ortom and all PDP candidates, citing as reasons that the governor has demonstrated uncommon courage in defending the people even in the face of intimidation and the need to stand by him.

In their submissions, women leaders of Logo, Ukum and Katsina/Ala local governments pledged total support of women in the axis to the re-election bid of gov. Ortom and other PDP candidates.

The women who commended Mrs. Ortom for facilitating significant inclusion of women in her husband’s administration, however solicited for more considerations.

They said women constitute majority of voters at all elections and there was need to give them adequate considerations to help alleviate their plight.

Chairmen of Logo LG, Richard Nyajo and the Chairperson of Ukum LG, Mrs. Virginia Kpindi said gov. Ortom deserved a return to power following his giant strides in the area of security among others.

They therefore promised to mobilize their people en-masse to vote the governor and the PDP in all the elections.

Youth leader of Logo, Msughter Akume, said for defending the people of the axis against forceful occupation by marauding herdsmen, the youths have thrown their weight solidly behind the governor’s second term ambition.

The youths however urged the governor to focus his campaign more on youths and women who constitute the majority of voters in the area for land slide victory.

Commissioner for water resources and environment, Shiaondo Aaghga, his counterpart in Industry, Trade and Investment, Mmemga Kachina, and former commissioner, James Anbua said the 2019 elections in Benue was going to be a “single-line formation” in sankera, assuring the governor that his victory and that of the PDP was a foregone conclusion.
