The body of a 17 year-old salesgirl, Peace Onaiwu, allegedly raped to death by yet-to-be identified persons, was on Monday found inside her shop at Uwasota Junction, Ugbowo, Benin City.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident to journalists, said Onaiwu’s body was found in the shop at 4.55pm.

She was found with her panties pulled aside and her head was covered with a black cellophane bag.

Meanwhile, Nwabuzor said operatives of the Ugbowo Police Division had removed the corpse.

He said the homicide section of the state police command headquarters had commenced investigation, disclosing that arrest had been made.

The police PRO also disclosed that a case of rape and possible ritual were being looked into by the operatives.
