A young man, Ojochenemi Akayaba was shot and killed at Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State on Saturday as thugs invaded a polling unit in the town to carry electoral materials, Daily Trust reports.

The incident occurred at the open Space University Village polling unit, Anyigba around 11am shortly after the voting started in the said polling unit.

The deceased was said to have finished his one-year mandatory National Youth service a few weeks ago when he met his untimely death. He was alleged to have led a group of thugs to the polling unit to carry electoral materials when he was shot by security agents.
