Commissioner for Information in Benue State, Mr. Michael Inalegwu, has lampooned the All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government alleging that the problem of banditry was its creation.

The Commissioner made the allegation while speaking to journalists in Makurdi, on Friday, in reaction to a recent write-up by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in which the latter disparaged the State Governor Samuel Ortom’s style of leadership.
Mr. Inalegwu who described Shehu Garba’s write up as absurd said “APC blame others for the problem that they have either not solved or have themselves created which is wrong. Since Governor Samuel Ortom assumed leadership of the state he has been solving problems and not create any.
“The people that created problems for Nigerians are Mallam Shehu’s principal and other persons working with him. The problem of banditry was created by the APC government.”
The Commissioner said Nigerians can hardly wait to see the end of the APC-led Federal Government in 2023 because of the inept, directionless, failed leadership they brought to bear on the country.
Lamenting cases of insecurity under the President Buhari government, Inalegwu said the presidency has been biased on the issue of herders/farmers crisis adding that the president is running a country where some persons are favoured and protected and others are left on their own.
“There is nowhere you go to without seeing herdsmen moving freely with AK47 without being arrested and prosecuted because it is not a sin. But if a cutlass for self protection is found in the possession of any Benue person, you will be caught and tried for being in possession of dangerous weapons.
He called on the presidency to live up to its responsibility of safeguarding lives and property of citizens pointing out that before Governor Ortom brought the Fulani herdsmen crisis to an end in Agatu LGA, Agatu people alone, lost over 3,920 persons to the various herders attack in their villages.
