Gunmen Abduct 3 Politicians, Demand N40m Ransom

Unknown gunmen have abducted three serving councillors of Gummi Local Government Area of the state.

This was confirmed on Friday by the Zamfara State Police Command.

The Command’s Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Shehu Mohammed, who gave the confirmation named the three kidnapped politicians as; Lawal Gummi of Ubandawaki ward, Murtala Arzika of Gayari ward, and Sahabi Abubakar of Birnin Tudun ward.

He said they were kidnappeGunmen abduct APC House of Reps. campaign DGd on Thursday on their way to Gusau the state capital.

According to Mohammed, one of the councillors, Murtala Arzika escaped from the abductors den.

He however, said the command was not aware of the demand of N40 million ransom by the kidnappers.

He further disclosed that the command had since receiving the information swung into action to ensure that the perpetrators were arrested and brought to book.
