Herdsmen Attack Benue Community, Amputate Farmer’s Hand

The relative peace witnessed in Benue state may again be disrupted by a fresh attack on a farmer in Guma Community by armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

The Next Edition gathered that suspected armed Fulani herdsmen, on Friday last week, attacked one Mrs. Grace Zeku on her farm and amputated her hand.

The attack took place at Gboogyo village, Guma local government area which is a border community with Nassarawa state.

According to the victim, she had gone to farm when the herdsmen came and attacked her.

She said they came and asked her to place her hand on a log of wood where it was cut off, adding that the herdsmen took off the hand and ran off as they told her to go home.

Mrs. Zeku who also sustained machete cuts on the head is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center, Apir, Makurdi, Benue state.
