The Super Eagles of Nigeria have become the first team to secure a spot in the knockout stages of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt with a 1-0 victory against Guinea.

Last weekend, Super Eagles defeated Burundi 1-0 in their opening match.

On Wednesday evening, the Eagles repeated the feat earning six points from their two matches.

Although the first half ended goalless, both teams became more determined in the second half with Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo scoring the only goal of the match in 73rd minute with a header thus earning Nigeria a spot in the next stage of the competition.
