A prominent Catholic healing minister, Reverend Monsignor Sylvester Osigwe is dead.

Osigwe who was the Founder / Spiritual Director of Jesus is Love and Power Ministry, Ifo, died on Saturday, June, 22, 2019 after a brief illness, aged 79 years.

A native of Umunumo, Ehime Mbano, Imo State, Osigwe was born on July 19, 1939 and was ordained a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos in 1977.

During his 40 years priestly work, Osigwe worked as the parish priest at different places in both Lagos and Abeokuta Catholic dioceses; two of such places were St Leo’s Parish, Ikeja and St. Augustine’s Parish, Ikorodu.

His last place of assignment was at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Ifo, Ogun State, the headquarters of Jesus is Love and Power Ministry.

Osigwe had through his weekly healing ministry attracted participants from different parts of the country, some of whom claimed that they were touched by the healing power of God under his ministration.

The cleric had written several books in his life-time, among them, ‘Healing Ministry and Evangelization’ in which he emphasized the use of the sacraments of the Catholic Church and sacramental as instruments of healing and evangelization.
