Incoming Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday assured Lagosians that he was fully prepared for the challenges of governance.
He also assured that he and his team would work diligently to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the State and take them to the next level.
Samwo-Olu gave the assurance in Ikeja on Saturday while speaking at the “Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat Victory Party” organised by his campaign organisation, the Independent Campaign Group, ICG.
He sounded a note of warning to those who would work with him that there was no room for laziness insisting that the watch word for his administration would be hard work.
While soliciting for the corporation of the citizens, he said it was time for everybody to up their game at whatever they do.
His words: “By the grace of God, our administration will be driven by hard work; there is no place for laziness.
“We will work and work to meet the aspirations of our people and make the state better for everyone.
“As we start a new journey on May 29, I appeal to residents to roll up their sleeves and support us to realise the State of our dream.
“If you are sweeper, it is time to sweep better, if you are sprinter; it is time to run faster, if you are a farmer, it is time to farm better.

“It is time for everybody to work harder and up their game so that together, we can build a better State.”
Sanwo-Olu extended his gratitude to Lagosians for supporting him and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, during the last election, and promised not to disappoint them.
He particularly recognised and appreciated the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, whom he said built the foundation for the giant strides achieved in the State.
He assured party faithful that his administration would not depart from it.
In his remarks, Director-General of ICG, Tayo Ayinde, thanked all those who worked directly and indirectly in the campaign organisation saying their commitment was instrumental in the overwhelming success recorded by Sanwo-Olu in the election.
He also thanked members of the APC in the state and residents of the State for supporting Sanwo-Olu.
