The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal will today, Wednesday, March 27, begin hearing on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress as winners of the February 23, 2019 election.
The petition will be heard by a five-man panel headed by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.
Hearing has been scheduled to begin by 9am.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had on February 27, declared Buhari winner of the Presidential election with 15,191,847, while Atiku, who came second polled 11,262,978 votes.
Atiku and the PDP however rejected the result claiming that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.
Their claim is contained in the 139 paged petition filed before the tribunal on March 18.
