The entire Alausa, seat of the Lagos State government in Ikeja, Lagos, was calm throughout the voting period of the presidential and National Assembly elections.

At the various polling stations visited by our correspondents, voting went on smoothly, with the voters remaining on queue, waiting for their turns.

Those who had voted earlier, sat on seats provided at the voting area, waiting for the end of voting for the votes to be counted.

However, at the Alausa Police Station Junction, where there were two polling units, only one of the card readers was working.

Frantic efforts were made to contact the technician in the area, who however, said he could not come down to the polling station immediately.

He, however, communicated some information to the polling officials, which they were trying to implement for voting to commence around mid-day.

However, the voters complained that the electoral officials arrived at the polling stations by 11. am, while a lot of the voters had been waiting since 8 a.m.

The electoral officials, when questioned, explained that they arrived late at the station because they got their materials late and had some transport difficulties while coming to their location.

However, proceedings were peaceful.

Along Agidingbi Road, all the polling stations recorded impressive turn-out, while voting went on peacefully.

Also, at the polling station behind the Ogba Police Station at Agbalajobi Estate, Ogba, voting was very peaceful, while the place recorded massive turn-out.

The electoral officials arrived the location very early, while voting commenced on time, as early as 9 a.m.
