Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress will today storm the National Assembly for the public hearing on the new National Minimum Wage Bill which was forwarded to the NASS by the presidency last week.
The Central Working Committee of the NLC rose from its meeting on Friday and expressed its displeasure over the N27,000 minimum wage bill presented to NASS by the Federal Government instead of the N30,000 recommended by the tripartite committee that deliberated on the issue.
President of the workers union, Ayuba Wabba, said after the meeting that it was out of procedure for the Federal Government to reduce the figure presented to it by the committee without involving other groups in the committee.

He said NLC would not accept N27,000 as the new minimum wage, adding that it would increase its agitation for N30,000.
He said, “The CWC has rejected the issue of reducing the figure. We still stand on the outcome of the tripartite committee.
“We will mobilise our members and engage the National Assembly on the issue. We will mobilise our members to the House of Representatives during the public hearing on the bill to make sure that the right thing is done.”
Also, the National Association of Academic Technologists said it would mobilise its members to attend the public hearing at the National Assembly complex today.
