Former Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio has charged Christians to continue to pray for peace before, during and after the 2019 general elections, just as he urged Nigerians to use the Christmas season to pray for the country’s leaders at all levels.

In a release from his media office signed by Jackson Udom, the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, said that ” though the INEC has been fully mobilised for the conduct of the elections, the Commission still needs the prayers of all Nigerians to have a smooth sail in the conduct of the 2019 polls. “

According to him, “as we go into elections next year, we need the prayers of Nigerians for a successful election, though INEC has been duly, fully and adequately empowered for the exercise. I will urge us all, irrespective of religious leanings to pray for the success of the exercise next year.”

“Let us not forget our leaders in prayers because they all need our collective prayers to lead us right. Let us not allow the importance of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ to be lost on us, which is love, peace and oneness, as we elect out leaders next year.”
