Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Benue state and Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial District, Akume, urged the Jime/Ode campaign organization to carryout issue based campaigns ahead of 2019 general election.

Sen. Akume stated this, Tuesday, in Makurdi, at the APC 2019 Governorship Campaign Organization Retreat.

He advised supporters of the party to eschew violence, hate speech and anything that will mar their campaigns as the train moves round the state.

The APC leader commended party officials and supporters for keeping faith, supporting and patronizing the party in the state saying the party is poised to restore it’s stolen mandate come 2019.

Akume accused Gov. Samuel Ortom of failing the state and embezzling funds especially the local government funds leading to the collapse of infrastructures at the third tier of government in the state.

He, however, said the APC will do all it can to clinch victory at the general election so as to save the state from total collapse.

Akume urged the campaign organization and supporters to work hard and make sacrifices to retrieve their stolen mandate.

He urged participants at the retreat to come out with better strategies to counter the lies and false narratives peddled by the present state government to hide their non-performance.

The APC State chairman, Aba Yaro, urged the party loyalists to continue to keep faith with the party saying he is confident the APC will emerge victorious come 2019.

The Director General of Emmanuel Jime/Sam Ode governorship campaign, Tilley Gyado called on all party members as well as supporters to rally round them for final victory come 2019.

“Don’t go home and sleep because your name is not mentioned. We need everyone on the train else we will not succeed.

“Dont leave me alone with this job. We will rely heavily on your support to enable us succeed,” he said adding that the APC will not only win in the state but will have a resounding victory at the national level.
