President Muhammadu Buhari has extolled the virtues of journalist and human rights activist, Mr. Richard Akinnola on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

In the message contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the president praised him for his uncompromising posture in always telling the truth to leaders.

He said it was impressive that he had always insisted on  propriety and fought for the sanctity of human rights and the integrity of the nation.

He described Akinnola as one of the individuals who fought to achieve the current democracy Nigeria is enjoying.

He prayed to God to grant Akinnola “longer life, good health and prosperity as he continues serving the country.’’
