The District Head of Kucheri in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Madawaki, was on Friday killed by some unknown gunmen.

The assassins killed him in front of his house.

The killing was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Muhammad Shehu, in a statement he issued in Gusau on Saturday.

He said the police had already visited the scene of the crime and discovered that nothing was removed from his house.

Shehu said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson, had ordered investigation to be carried out on the killing in order to arrest the criminals responsible.

The police called on the public to help with any information that could lead to the arrest of the gunmen.
