The co-convener of BringBackOurGirls Campaign was said to have started her solo protest to demand action from President Buhari at the Federal Secretariat Complex in a march that took her to the State House.

However, when she got to the gates of the palatial presidential palace, security operatives on duty pounced on her in an attempt to stop her and seize her placard.

The former minister resisted the attempts but the security operatives would not let go of her.

Mrs. Ezekwezili stood her ground and shouted on top of her voice for President Buhari to stop the killings and bring the killers to book.

Security men in an attempt to stop her; pushed and dragged the lone activist.

However, journalists who scampered to cover the riotous scene were manhandled by armed security operatives and their phone and cameras seized.

As the security operatives engaged her, Mrs. Ezekwezili shouted, “I am addressing my message to you as the President of Nigeria. I am addressing my demand to you as that one individual bestowed with the powers of centralized command and control of our security institutions and personnel to enforce the provisions of Section 14, subsection 2(b)of the Nigerian Constitution (As amended) which states that “the welfare and security of the citizens shall be the primary purpose of the government.’”

Among other things, the former minister requested Mr. Buhari to fulfil 12 demands as a recipe to the current crisis in the country.

The demands included stopping the continuous killings across the country, revealing the identities of the killers and their sponsors, ensuring justice to the victims of the atrocious crimes.

Others are checking ineffectiveness of the security agencies, sacking the service chiefs and ending the blame game in the face of the killings.
