The accession of Nigeria-born British boxing champion, Anthony Joshua,  to the summit of modern heavyweight greatness continued on Saturday night.

He is currently a unified World Heavyweight Champion, having held the IBF title since 2016, the WBA and IBO titles since 2017, and now WBO title.

After 12 rounds, Joshua through unanimous decision won (118-110, 118-110, 119-109) on the three judges’ scorecards.

This victory extended the London 2012 Olympic champion’s perfect professional record to 21 wins.

It was however the first in which he had failed to do so by a total knockout (TKO) or knockout (KO).

However, the unification bout against New Zealand WBO Champion Joseph Parker was his first defeat in his 25-fight professional career.

With Joshua earning £15 million and Parker £7 million, it was easily the biggest fight of the beaten boxer’s career.

“I lost to the better champion tonight,” said Parker.

“We will be back again stronger and I’m happy I went the twelve rounds.”

Joseph Parker is a fast fighter, he’s very strong and tactical too.

He put up a tough fight, he took Joshua the distance for the first time in his professional career.

Anthony Joshua wins nine rounds of the twelve rounds.

He won by unanimous decision in the night at Cardiff Principality Stadium.

Meanwhile Anthony Joshua has reached out to both Deontey Wilder and Tyson Fury to brace up for a fight immediately after he was declared the winner of the night.
