Stakeholders meet to review and update Nigerian Media Code of Election Coverage.

The International Press Centre, IPC, held a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday to review and update “The Nigerian Media Code of Election Coverage.”

The event which held in Lagos was attended by major stakeholders including President, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Waheed Odusile; Assistant Director, International Cooperation, Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Dr Sanjo Faniran; Project Officer, European Union-SDGN, Asinabo Aminat Bukky, and Director, IPC, Lanre Arogundade.

Also at the occasion were General Secretary, Nigerian Guild of Editors, Victoria Ibanga; former Commissioner for Information in Rivers State, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari; Provost, Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Gbemiga Ogunleye, and Chairman, Lagos Council, NUJ, Quarim Akinreti.

Editor-in-Chief, Gleaner News Online, Tony Iyare; Executive Director, Institute for Media and Society, Akin Akingbolu and Assistant Director-Programmes, Radio Nigeria, Lagos Operations, Funke-Treasure Durodola, were also present.
