Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh, was brought to the Federal High Court, Abuja, in an ambulance on Monday.
He is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over alleged financial scam to the tune of N400 million.
The money was said to have been illegally disbursed to Metuh by the office of the former National Security Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki.
During the last hearing Metuh’s lawyers, led by Onyeachi Ikpeazu, had pleaded for a long adjournment because of the critical health condition of his client.
He was said to have been on admission at Nnamdi Azikiwe Specialist Hospital over a spinal cord complication.
Justice Okon Abang however refused the request warning that Metuh’s bail would be revoked if he was not brought to court on Monday.
Upon alighting from the ambulance, Metuh was put on a stretcher.
However, on seeing him in court on a stretcher, the judge adjourned the matter till March 15.
“I have seen the condition that the first defendant is. Seeing the condition, I am inclined to adjourn this matter to allow the first defendant attend his trial,” he said.
