A flying academy and research institute is to be established in Bauchi State.

The institute will be established by a South Africa-based SIATA Aviation in partnership with Bauchi State government.

The team leader of the project, Captain Ibrahim Sheriff, made this known during a press briefing in Bauchi.

According to him, they were also working in collaboration with Ambro Afrique consultants on the project.

He explained that the essence of the flying academy was to generate revenue from the Bauchi International Airport.

His words:  “The establishment of a flying academy and other projects is aimed at utilising the Bauchi International Airport to generate revenue. ‎We will incorporate the research institute with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University to train and create employment for the citizens.” ‎

Also speaking on the project, the Chairman of Bauchi State Investment Limited, Alhaji Aminu Musa,‎ said that the project would attract a lot of investors to the state.
