Indigenes of Benue State on Thursday stormed the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, protesting the continued killing in their state by suspected herdsmen.
They also warned against the possible establishment of cattle colonies in the state.
The protesters, mostly youth, dressed in black clothes and displayed placards with different inscriptions.
Security agents at the National Assembly have however refused to allow them in.
Tension has continued to rise over the killings in Benue State.
Only last week, 73 persons hacked down by suspected herdsmen were given mass burial in Benue State.
Despite the presence of security agencies to restore peace, the killing has continued.

Bent on putting an end to the mayhem in the state and other parts of the country where the herdsmen have continued to unleash terror, the National Assembly on Tuesdayordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to fish out the killers of the people of Benue and bring them to book.
The legislative house also called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to look the other way any longer but act.
The Senate said the first step to solving the problem was to ensure justice and that that could only be done by first arresting those culpable and making them face the law.
The leadership of the Senate also visited President Buhari to intimate him with the resolutions agreed upon to solve the problem.
