An Area Court in Jos on Tuesday, sentenced Weng Pam, a student, to six months imprisonment, for stealing household items worth N150,000.

 

The judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence.

 

The judge, however, gave the convict an option of fine of N30, 000 as well as to pay a compensation of N50, 000 or another six months imprisonment in default.

 

Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Insp ijuptil Daniel, told the court that the case was reported at the B Division Police Station in Bukuru, on Dec. 14, 2024 by Mr Jerry Pam.

 

He said the complainant, said the accused person, broke into his house and stole his home theatre and clothing all valued at N150, 000.

 

He added that during police investigation, the convict confessed to have committed the offence.

 

He said the offence, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria. (NAN)
