Mercy Aigbe addressed the rumours of her getting married to Kazim for the money.

According to her, she was already stable financially before her marriage.

She said, “I am not poor to start with. I work very hard, and I wonder why people don’t see my hard work. I’m one of the most misunderstood people. I work so hard and hardly sleep.”

“I have assets—my child is abroad and I pay school fees in dollars. I change naira to dollars, and I have been doing that before I got married. I don’t know how people got that notion that I married because of money.”

She affirmed that she married him because of love and their strong friendship.
“I married him because I love him, not because of money. I married him because he is my best friend. He gives me peace; he makes me happy. I didn’t marry him because of money, in fact, I’m working for him because we are business partners.”

Her husband, Kazim also confirmed their friendship. He revealed that they have been friends and business partners for over 10years before their relationship.

He said, “Mercy has always been a business partner and I’ve always seen something very special. The first thing that got me attracted to her was that she was very open and truthful to me from the first transaction we had together.”

Their union made headlines in January 2022 as Mercy became Kazim’s second wife.
