Benue State Government said it has received of 50,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Ngunan Addingi, disclosed this while briefing journalists, Tuesday evening, after an Executive Council meeting held in Government House, Makurdi.
Mrs Addingi said the State Action Committee on COVID-19 would meet to decide when to kick off the vaccination.
Meanwhile, receiving the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, Executive Secretary, State primary Health Care Board, Dr. Bem Ageda, commended the federal government and National primary Health Care Development Agency for its prompt response to the heath needs of the Nigerians.
Dr. Ageda said Benue state was one among the first states to receive the vaccine which is a proof of total commitment to the health needs of the Benue people.
The Executive Secretary explained that the vaccination exercise will commence Friday this week to the 22nd of the month across board with health workers and the most at risk.

Ageda who noted that every new thing always comes with skepticism, assured that the vaccine has gone through all the scientific analysis which confirms the safety and efficacy saying hundreds of millions of people have taken the vaccine globally.
He, therefore, advised the Benue people to do away with myths and doubts about the vaccine and come out to protect themselves.
State Acting Coordinator of World Health Organization (WHO), Doctor Terseer Ahemen, said the federal government and National primary Health Care Development Agency have been fast in ensuring that Benue state gets the vaccine on time and advised the people to register on https://nphedaict.com.ng/public reg to be vaccinated against COVID -19.
Also, the State Coordinator, National primary Health Care Development Agency, Mr. Shola Babatunde, said the vaccines are from the National strategic cold store and to be given to health workers, essential workers, saying that the vaccine are in four phases.
