The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said on Saturday that it discharged a total of 4,253 persons who had made full recovery from the Coronavirus in the last 24hours.

Out of the 4, 253, the agency said 4,161 were community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with new case management guidelines.

An update posted on the health agency’s website on Saturday night put the overall number of discharged persons across the country at 56, 557.

Meanwhile, the body said it recorded 113 new infections on the day in review.

The new cases were reported from 13 states and Abuja with Lagos having the highest number.

The tweet read: “On the 17th of October 2020, 113 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 61307 cases have been confirmed, 56557 cases have been discharged and 1123 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 113 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos (37), Kaduna (16), Ogun (11), Plateau (11), Taraba (8), Rivers (7), FCT (6), Enugu (4), Niger (4), Edo (3), Delta (2), Imo (2), Benue (1), Kano (1).

“Our discharges today include 4,161 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with new case management guidelines.
