A letter written to the National Assembly and read by the Senate President Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday at the resumption of plenary said the President asked for 11 hours on Thursday to make the presentation.

The letter read in part, “May I crave the kind indulgence of the distinguish Senate to grant me the slot of 11 hours on Thursday 8th October, 2020 to formally present the 2021 Appropriation Bill to the Joint Session of the National Assembly.

“While I look forward to addressing the joint session, please accept, Mr. Senate President, the assurances of my highest regards.”

Recall that the Federal Executive Council had last Wednesday approved a budget estimate of N13.08tn for the 2021 fiscal year.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, had made that known to State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.
