The media outlet said the cast would reunite for an unscripted special which would look back at the cultural impact the show has had since it premiered in 1990.

According to officials of WestBrook Media, the special would be taped on September 10, the show’s anniversary and would debut on Thanksgiving.

The group also said that it would be launched exclusively on HBO Max.

The original series was about a street-smart teenager played by Will Smith from West Philadelphia who is sent to live with his wealthy uncle and aunt in their Bel Air mansion after getting into a fight in his hometown. It ran from 1990 to 1996, having a total of six seasons.

Will Smith will be joined by series regulars Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey Butler), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian Banks), and Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), the report said.

It would be recalled that James Avery, who played patriarch Phillip “Uncle Phil” Banks, died in 2013 from complications following open-heart surgery.
