The Lagos State Police Command revealed on Sunday that it arrested about 2,310 persons during the lockdown for flouting the order.
It also impounded 2,092 vehicles within the period.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, who disclosed this in a statement said 125 of those arrested were warned and released because they were underage; “some were asked to write undertakings to be of good conduct, while 2,185 were charged to court and awarded punishments ranging from two hours to six months community service as well as fines between N5,000 to N100,000 upon conviction.”

According to Elkana, some of the violators were arrested in clubs, at parties or while exercising in groups.
On the 2,092 vehicles impounded by the police, he noted that 800 were privately owned while 1,292 were commercial vehicles.
The command, he said, it also seized 1,535 motorcycles and 369 tricycles within the period.
The Police spokesman said the command effectively manned its 14 identified borders with neighbouring states as tactical units were deployed to reinforce conventional patrol teams in such areas.
