BREAKING: Missing Osun COVID-19 Patient Arrested By Police

The police in Osun have apprehended the COVID-19 patient who ran away from the isolation centre.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ismail Omipidan confirmed this to the Nation.

According to him, the patient, who is a woman has been returned to the isolation facility in Ejigbo, area of the State.

The woman, he said was arrested in Ejigbo town.

Recall that the news had broken earlier on Saturday that six patients escaped from the isolation facility.

However, it was countered by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemonde, who said that only one patient escaped .

“This morning we embarked on a headcount and found out that only one person could not be accounted for by officials stationed at the Isolation centre out of the 127 persons.

“The State Government is currently investigating the matter and will ensure that the missing person is brought back to the Isolation centre and we will also ensure we trace all his contacts,” she said.
