A civil servant, Mrs Patience Ibrahim, on Thursday dragged her husband Talpha Atega, before a Customary court in Jikwoyi, Abuja for allegedly dating her friend.

Ibrahim in a divorce petition, accused her husband of being a flirt.

“My husband is a womanizer. I am ashamed on his behalf for dating my friend.

“I pray the court to grant me divorce and the custody of the only child of our marriage,” she said.

The petitioner told the court that her husband does not provide for the family.

”I’ve been the one paying the house rent, hospital bills, feeding, clothing and school fees of our daughter.

“I don’t love him anymore,” he added.

The respondent, Atega, who is a clergyman, in his defence denied the allegations.

”I have a new job now. I’ve been contributing to the best of my abilities towards taking care of my family since January,” he said.

The presiding judge, Labaran Gusau, advised the couple to explore alternative means of settlement, for the sake of their daughter.

He adjourned the matter until March 24, for report of settlement or hearing. (NAN)
