Taraba: Four killed as gunmen fulfill threat

No fewer than four people were killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Ngutsen Village of Wurojam Ward in Gasol local government area of Taraba State.

The killing came some hours after Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State raised the alarm that his state was going to be attacked.

The herdsmen were reported to have attacked the village in the night of Thursday, Vanguard newspaper quoted an eyewitness.

“They came in our village in large number. We have been having sleepless nights since the rumour of the landing of helicopter close to our village here.  We were able to alert our people.

“Though four persons were killed – two women and two men – several people were injured and they are taking treatment at several hospitals as we speak.”

Governor Ishaku had raised the alarm of a possible attack.

Disclosing this at a meeting with the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, he said that he received a letter stating that the state would be attacked within 10 days.
