Sony’s latest Spiderman adventure, ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ has officially taken down ‘Avatar’ to become the third biggest movie at the domestic box office.

According to Variety, the latest Sony film collected $1 million on Monday to push “Avatar” — and its mighty $760.5 million at the North American box office to fourth place in the record books.

It has grossed a stunning $760.9 million at the domestic box office since launching exclusively in theaters in December. To catch “Avengers: Endgame” ($858 million) at the second spot and to match “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($936 million) in first place, it would require over a $100 million in domestic ticket sales.

Globally, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is the sixth-highest grossing movie of all time with $1.8 billion.

‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ has had an impressive big screen run since its release in December 2021. During opening weekend alone, the film landed the second-biggest domestic debut in history with $260 million and the third-largest global start ever with $600 million. It eventually became the first pandemic-era movie to cross $1 billion at the global box office.
