Nigerian singer, Mr. MayD, shared a video of his baby mama telling their son to abuse him.
He captioned the video: “I love you Lami. Happy father’s day. This video is 3 years old.”
The video which is really disturbing is trending on social media platforms.
In the video the boy could be seen being instructed by his mother to insult his father, Mayokun (aka Mr. MayD).
She fixed the camera on him and asked him to repeat after her.
She called him animal and bastard while the poor boy repeated.
He said: “I hate you. You are a bad man. You left my mother because of a woman. I hate you daddy. Daddy is a bad man. Useless man. Irresponsible man.”
Fans of MayD took to social media to express disgust over the incident.
Most people wondered why a mother would tell her child to abuse her ex-boyfriend.
Some called it child abuse.
An Instagram user, with handle, @Tobisco, said, “This is pure evil. Very heartbreaking letting that innocent kid say such hateful words. What is she teaching him?”
Another user who goes by the handle toks_123 who is also a single mother like MayD’s ex said, “This is rubbish I swear. I am a single mother and I will never do this whatever the case may be between me and the father of my baby. It is none of the child’s business.”
When she realised that her image was at stake as a result of the video, she issued a statement giving reasons why she used her son to insult his father.
She said, “My son doesn’t know MayD. That video was when we bumped into him three year ago at ICM. He immediately pulled out his phone and started taking pictures for the gram and social media. I explained to him how difficult it has been to take care of my son alone for the past two years. He told me we should meet at a Hotel in Ikeja.

“He told me I had to leave our son with him. When I insisted, he started beating me and threw my son off the bed. He kicked me repeatedly. I had to rush my son to the hospital. We always tried to reach out to him but he refused to see us.”
The drama continued as MayD’s fiancé, Caro, took to social media to defend him.
“I feel I need to clear up some of these false accusations going around against my man,” she said.
“For the past four years, I have seen him being mentally abused by his ex by using their son against him. She sends endless text messages calling him the worst names in the book and accusing him of not loving or wanting to take care of his son when all he tried to ever do was to see Lami.”
