Report on new CVR date untrue

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it has not fixed another date for Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, exercise before the 2019 general elections.

The commission described as untrue stories making the rounds on the social media that it has given another opportunity for the exercise from Dec. 2 to 10.

In a tweet at the Commission handle @inecnigeria on Thursday, it said: “Information reaching the Commission is that some persons have been circulating messages online that “INEC has given another opportunity to register for PVCs, starting from Dec. 2 to Dec. 10, 2018.

“The report is untrue and we advise the public to ignore it.”

The last voter registration exercise ended on August 31, 2019.
