Mrs Baarong Tony-Uranta, wife of late human rights activist, Mr. Tony Uranta, says the family is still lonely two years after the death of her husband.

Tony Uranta, 67, died on Nov. 24, 2021, at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital, LUTH.

Uranta’s widow in a tribute on Friday in Lagos to mark two years after the passage of the late activist, said that her heart still hurts and the family very lonely.

Mrs Tony-Uranta said: “My darling TIU (Tony Ipriye Uranta) two years on! It feels like yesterday, when you bade us farewell. The memories we shared still linger.

“Your laughter, wisdom, compassion and love for your family and country, were second to none!

“You called Amy, Eyen mi and your fond name for her was “The Minx”. You were her Super Man- A Super Dad.

“You called me, Ima mi, and specially, – your “Honey Bee. You were my ‘Ish’. My warrior! My Super ‘T’. How we miss you calling out those names now.

“The house is so quiet. Your booming voice and deep laughter is no more. Alas life must go on even as the pain lingers on. So, we just have to move on with our lives but never forgetting you.”

She said that although Tony-Uranta had been deeply missed, the family had chosen to celebrate the late activist.

“We choose to celebrate you today, knowing you lived a great life impacting several cadres of people, and now you are rejoicing with the angels in heaven. This is our consolation.

“Rest on honey, my dear hubby me -TIU. Tony Ipriye Uranta. God’s second favorite son, after Jesus Christ – as you used to call yourself. Who can beat that?

“Enjoy the bosom of Abraham my love, as you stand with the saints in glory in the very presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ, who is sitting on the right hand of God The Father and with the angels.” (NAN)
