President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday night returned to Abuja, a day ahead of schedule.

The President, who left Nigeria on April 4 for Jordan to participate in the World Economic Forum, WEF, and later moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE, where he participated in the ninth edition of the Annual Investment Meeting was originally scheduled to return to the country on Wednesday at about 1.30am.

However, the presidential aircraft landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 10.45p.m bringing home the president, his aides and some members of his entourage.

It was gathered that the president’s decision to cut his trip might not be unconnected with the recent security developments in the country especially in Zamfara and Kaduna states.

Recall that there has been a spike in activities of bandits in the two states and other parts of the country in the last one week.

President Buhari, who was in Amman on the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan delivered an address at the opening of the plenary alongside King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres.

While in Dubai, President Buhari also held bilateral talks and meetings with various potential investors and also interacted with Nigerians in Dubai on the sidelines of the meeting.
