An undisclosed number of suspected homosexuals were on Sunday, March 7, 2021, arrested by the police while allegedly holding a party at a hotel in Ifitedunu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.

An indigene of the community, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that the homosexuals were holding a party at the hotel when trouble ensued, leading to the invitation of policemen from Ukpo Police Division.

It was gathered that ceilings, roof and other facilities were damaged at the property following a desperate attempt by the suspects to escape being arrested on the arrival of police operatives.

Reacting to the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said the report of the incident was yet to get to his desk.

It was, however, learnt that the suspects were taken to the Police Anti-cult Office in Ukpo for further investigations.
