The police in Oyo have arrested the Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly, Wasiu Olafisoye Akinmoyede, in connection with the murder of the late House of Representatives member and senatorial candidate, Temitope Olatoye a.k.a. Sugar.
Olatoye was shot and severely wounded on his way back from his village where he had gone to cast his vote during the March 9 governorship and states house of assembly elections.
He later died at the UCH, Ibadan.

Akinmoyede’s arrest has brought to two the number of persons held in connection with the crime.
The Police in Oyo, had on Tuesday, March 12, announced the arrest of a suspect whose name was not given, in connection with Olatoye’s death even as it said the killing was not connected with the governorship and state assembly elections.
Olatoye was representing Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency at the House of Reps while Akinmoyede is representing Lagelu state constituency.
