The heavy presence of armed security personnel is making it impossible for some voters to participate at the on going supplementary election in Osun state.

Meanwhile, a yet-to-be-identified man has been arrested at Ward 5 Unit 7, polling unit in Oshogbo LG for trying to distribute money to voter. He was also said to have been caught with fake voters card.

Reports monitored on Twitter indicate that the presence of security men combined with hoodlums seem to have overwhelmed voters.

Tweeting at its official handle, INEC Nigeria@inecnigeria, the Commission said; “INEC is disturbed about reports that accredited media and observers are being arrested or prevented from operating in some units. This is being taken up with security agencies.”

There are reports also that at Idiya. Ward 8, Unit 1, in Orolu LG, voters were driven away from the polling unit by hoodlums. They are said to have taken refuge at the palace of Ifon-Orolu.

Again at Kajola Ward 8 Unit 1, some voters were also prevented from casting their votes.

The re-run election is taking place in seven wards in four local government areas where results of last Saturday’s election were cancelled.
