Personnel of the Oyo State Police Command deployed for the October 10, Ondo State governorship election, on Thursday, lamented the non-payment of their allowances, weeks after the exercise.
The affected policemen, spoke to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on condition of anonymity.

According to them, the non-payment of the election allowances affected officers who were posted to the Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
They further said: “No single officer among the 300 people deployed to the Ese-Odo local government area of Ondo State has been paid. We are calling on the police authority to pay our allowances and let it not be an issue of promise and fail as usual.”
However, those who served in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State were said to have been paid.
It was gathered that the affected policemen were forced to use personal funds for their upkeep throughout the period.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said the command was on the issue and appealed to the affected personnel to channel their grievances to the appropriate quarters and exercise patience.
