Musa Alechenu who contested the Ohimini state constituency, of Benue state under the All Progressive Congress, APC made this call when he spoke to journalists in Makurdi.
Alechenu said he was speaking to the press to call the attention of the world to the Injustice done to him.
He said he had participated in the March 9th governorship and state assembly elections where his people came out enmase and voted for him.
“Out of the nine wards, I won in eight wards. When we got to the collation centres, the security men told me that candidates were not supposed to be there but their agents. So I left.
Before collation began, my Local government agent raised an observation that they can’t collate results without reconciling the results they have with the card readers . This argument lasted for three hours and to our surprise, the card reader man was no where to be found. Then the returning officer with other INEC officials still went ahead and announced some figures that I scored 6125 while my opponent from the PDP scored 6522 with a difference of 397.
He noted that two polling units, Odega in Onyagede Icho ward and another polling unit in Agadamgba ward were cancelled with 1056 votes.
He qouted section 26 and 53 of the electoral act, which states that where the lead margin is not in excess of the number of registered voters where elections are cancelled or not held, there shall be a rerun.
He therefore expressed surprise that when the materials for the March 23rd supplementary election was brought to his local government, only that which will be used for governorship election was present while that of assembly was not brought, a signal that he will not be taking part in the election.
“I am here to tell the wild that this is injustice. For me, Mr Nantewe has compromised. I have information from a reliable source that he collected a huge amount of money to sell out and what has happened is a clear indication. The law is explicit. There is no ambiguity in it.
“If the collation officer in collaboration with anyone declared results, then I am calling on the EFCC to step into this matter because it’s a clear case of corruption and an injustice. EFCC should pick the returning officer, REC and the election officer for questioning.”

Alechenu said he had made complaints to the REC on the 10th of March immediately after the election and he was informed by his election officer on the 11th to get ready for a rerun.
“In fact he asked me to go ahead with my campaign and prepare for a rerun and since then I have been canvassing for the remaining 1056 votes in the two polling units. But I am now surprised that material are not sent.
“So I am calling that let the material for the house of assembly be sent to Ohimini so that I will also participate in the rerun election.
But responding to the issues, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Nantewe Yilwatda, said declaration was made in Ohimini and a candidate was returned.
Nantewe explained that “a name was sent to us and we sent the name to Abuja for a certificate of return to be issued and I am not aware of any complaints that was made that day. Nobody made any complain to me.
“That very day you are talking about, I left for Abuja. So if any complain was made, I would have received it that day. But upon return, I got a complain from somebody yesterday, (21st March) and I have sent the complain to the legal unit to investigate how true that compain is. That US the stage we are on that,” he said
