The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday reported 457 more cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total infections to 44,890.
According to an update on the health agency’s Twitter handle, the new infections were recorded in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos recorded the highest number of infections with 137 cases, while the FCT came second with 76 new infections.

The agency also reported 17 deaths on the day in review bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 927.
On the positive side, the NCDC said 314 persons were discharged on the same day after recovering from the virus thus bringing the total number of those discharged to 32,165.
The other states with new infections are: Plateau – 40, Rivers – 35, Enugu – 34, Oyo – 25, Abia – 23, Delta – 12, Edo – 1, Ebonyi – 11, Cross River – 10, Kwara – 10, Kaduna – 9, Anambra – 7, Ogun – 5, Imo – 3, Bauchi – 3, Osun -2 Nasarawa – 2, Kano – 1, Ekiti – 1.
