The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on Thursday assured Nigerians that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) would not relent in fighting bandits until they are totally wiped out.

Abubakar made the vow during a visit to Katsina for an on-the-spot assessment of “Operation Wutan Daji Two,” a subsidiary of “Operation Hadarin Daji” recently launched in the North-West.

“Operation Wutan Daji Two,” is aimed at identifying the locations of bandits in the forests and flushing them out, Abubakar explained.

Responding to a question on how long the operation would last, Abubakar said: “We don’t know, we will make sure until we catch the bandits in their nets.

“The fighting is not going to end until we make sure that no civilian is killed and we clear the bandits in the forests.”

The CAS expressed satisfaction with the operation by the Air officers and men urging them to work in synergy with other security agencies against banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and criminal acts.
