Miss Monica Osagie, the student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile Ife, Osun State, whose voice is said to be the one in the sex-for-marks audio that went viral has been summoned.
The summon came a few hours after the Executive Director of Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, claimed that Osagie had not been invited by the school authority as claimed.
In the letter dated April 19, 2018, Osagie has been invited to appear before the panel investigating the matter on Tuesday.
The letter with Ref. No ADP 15/16/H/14/1424 and signed by the Deputy Registrar and College Secretary, Mrs. A. O. Fadeyibi, reads:
“I write at the instance of the Provost Postgraduate College to invite you to appear before the Investigative Panel on Alleged Harassment of a Female student Detailed in Audio Recording at its meeting which comes up at 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday 24th April, 2018.
“Please be informed that on arrival you are required to call the Secretary to the Panel on 08052472073 to facilitate your appearance before the panel.”
It would be recalled that the lecturer involved in the scandal, Professor Richard Akindele, had appeared before the panel and suspended indefinitely, having been found guilty of the offence.
